Project Purpose
To create a modern tribute series honoring three cultural icons, David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne, and Tupac Shakur. Each piece represents a unique energy and presence while sharing a unified visual language focused on emotion, power, and simplicity.

Legends Never Die is a poster series built around legacy and influence. The goal was to design a modern memorial that captures each artist’s energy without relying on overused imagery. Each piece was built from the same foundation but developed with its own rhythm through color, contrast, and lighting.
The series blends illustration and photo compositing to create a clean, cinematic tone. By focusing on controlled light and minimal elements, each poster feels personal but part of a larger story about how art and influence continue beyond the artist.
Set The Mood
Before creating the posters, I collected reference images of each artist to establish tone and atmosphere. These visuals helped guide the emotion behind the lighting, color palette, and posture of each portrait. The goal was to capture personality through mood rather than detail.
Sketch Phase
I started by drawing three concept sketches for each subject, experimenting with different poses and compositions. Each set was kept consistent in layout and tone to ensure the series would feel unified once developed. The sketches focused on balance, proportion, and how the lighting would connect across all three pieces.

Typeface Study
Source Serif Variable was chosen for its balance between classic elegance and modern readability. It holds weight and structure while keeping the overall design clean and editorial. The semibold variation adds just enough strength to support the bold imagery without overpowering it.

Progress Work (Rough Drafts)
These drafts focused on finding consistency between the three designs. I worked on proportion, spacing, and tone while testing how each image held up next to the others. Adjustments were light and fast, helping define the overall rhythm and structure of the final series.
Final Designs
The final versions brought together clean composition, controlled lighting, and balanced contrast. I removed unnecessary details to make each piece more direct and focused. The final result is a cohesive triptych that feels modern and respectful while still carrying a bold, emotional presence.
